Student Optimum Series (SOS)*

1/31 - 2/28 (Every Wednesday) | 3PM - 4PM | SSB 250

SOS is a five week, interactive series to providing direction and exploration for declaring your major, strategies for success, and discovering what you are MEANT to do! Name and Claim your natural talents, and Aim to make them your Strengths for Success! The SOS Series is privided in collaboration with The Center for Career and Professional Advancement. 

*SOS can be completed as an alternative to fulfilling program requirements. Please consult with Program Coordinator in advance.

 

Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) Medical Conference

2/10 | All Day | Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA

Student Registration and Transportation is provided to all STEP Scholars.  STEP will be tabling outside Scholars Lane, February 1st, 12Noon-2PM, to register students. Registration is first-come first-serve basis only. 

 

DAT Graduate School Admission Entrance Exam Seminar

2/21 | SSM 104| 4:30 - 5:30PM :The DAT (Dental Admission Test) is used as part of the admissions process for dental school. This seminar will guide students through the DAT exam and teach effective test taking strategies. This seminar is in provided in partnership with KAPLAN.

 

The Ultimate Guide to Student Loans

2/22 | COB2 110 | 5PM - 7PM - Learn how to best manage your student loans and know about various repayment plans. This workshop is a collaboration with Guardian Scholars and Services for Undocumented Students; and is instructed by Travis Credit Union. 

 

Impostor Syndrome Forum

3/21 | SAAC 217 | 1:30PM - 3PM

This forum gathers faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students to have an open discussion about the affects of impostor syndrome. This formum is a collaboration with Guardian Scholars and Services for Undocumented Student Services

 

Income Taxes 101

3/21 | SSB 120 |  5:30PM - 7PM  – Currently working or will work in the near future? Learn how to file your income taxes. This workshop is provided in partnership with Travis Credit Union. Open to all students. Snacks provided.

Career Roundtable: Business & Entrepreneurship

4/09 | California Room | 5PM – 7PM

This roundtable serves as a forum in which students learn about meaningful careers in business/entrepreneurship. Students will get the opportunity to interact and learn directly from professionals in the field. Open to all students. Refreshments providedThis Roundtable is in collaboration with the Fiat Lux Scholars Program.

This Roundtable brings together professionals and students for open and engaged conversations about engineering, the workforce, and career preparation. Learn from our panel of professionals in the field. Open to all students. Refreshments provided.
